The Lost Boys is a 1987 American horror film about young Californians who must fight a gang of teenage vampires. It stars Jason Patric, Corey Haim, and Kiefer Sutherland, and co-stars Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, and Barnard Hughes. It was directed by Joel Schumacher.

The film's title is derived from Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie.

A divorced mother, Lucy Emerson (Dianne West), and her two teenage sons Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move to live with the mother's father in the small California town of Santa Carla (based loosely on the city of Santa Cruz, California), plagued by problems with a motorcycle gang and unexplained disappearances.

The older boy, Michael, is eventually drawn into the motorcycle gang because he feels attracted to the group's girl, Star (Jami Gertz), and because he doesn't want to look less than their charismatic leader, David (Kiefer Sutherland). After a sort of informal initiation ceremony with the gang involving dangerous activities such as motorcycle racing through the fog, Michael begins to hang out with them until he is made to drink blood in the guise of wine. (They had also made him eat rice which they made him believe was maggots). Soon afterwards, he starts showing the symptoms of vampirism. He sleeps all day and starts hanging out with them all night, which lasts until they drive him to a real hunt and show him that he must kill in order to survive.

This makes Michael react. With the help of Star (Jami Gertz), Laddie (a vampire child), and his brother Sam who in the meantime has joined up with two relatively inept vampire hunters Edgar (Corey Feldman) and Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander), he sets out to shake off the curse by finding and killing the head vampire. This proves more difficult than it seems, as it is not evident who the leader is.

Sam and the Frog Brothers try to prove that Lucy's boyfriend Max (Edward Herrmann) is the leader of the vampire gang, but their tests fail. Towards the end of the movie, it turns out Max is the leader. Their vampire tests didn't work because Michael had invited Max into the house ("Don't ever invite a vampire into your house, you silly boy," Max said to Sam at the end of the movie. "It renders you powerless.")

The boys battle the vampires, killing all of them except Max. As Max is about to bite into Lucy's neck, Grandpa drives his jeep through the wall of the house and sends a fence post through Max's heart. Grandpa casually gets one of his root beers from the refridgerator and remarks, "One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach... all the damn vampires", indicating he has known much more about the paranormal activities in the area than anyone suspected.

psycho III (1986)

Psycho III is a 1986 sequel to Psycho & Psycho II. The film stars Anthony Perkins (who also directed the film), Diana Scarwid, Jeff Fahey and Roberta Maxwell. The screenplay is written by Charles Edward Pogue. The original music score is composed by Carter Burwell. The film is marketed with the tagline "Norman Bates is back to normal. But Mother's off her rocker again!"

The film starts off with Maureen Coyle (Diana Scarwid), a mentally unstable young nun, is on top of a bell tower about to commit suicide, one of the nuns try to gets her to come down, but the nun gets pushed off and dies. Another nun tells Maureen that she will burn in hell, she is forced to leave the abbey after this ordeal.

Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) is still manning the desk at the Bates Motel, where he now has an assistant, Duane Duke (Jeff Fahey), a sleazy young musician desperate for money. Maureen, now the new long-term tenant, has been seeing Duane and has some issues to resolve in her life; she gave up her vows as a nun only days before, and she isn't sure just how she feels about either spiritual or earthly matters.

Maureen finds herself at the diner, where Norman is a short order cook since his release from the asylum. Norman takes an interest in Maureen because she strongly resembles Marion Crane -- the girl he murdered in the shower 22 years earlier. Her initials, "M.C.", are also the same as those of Marion Crane. Meanwhile, Norman is still keeping the dressed corpse of the killer, Mrs. Emma Spool, in his old Victorian mansion behind the Bates Motel on the hill.

Director and star, Anthony Perkins, clearly made an effort to make Psycho III in a style reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock's original classic: its style is rooted in Psycho, not Psycho II.

For instance: During a conversation between Maureen and Norman in the motel's office, Maureen expresses her concern that she may have "gone a little mad" when she left the nunnery. Norman, echoing himself from Psycho, replies: "We all go a little mad sometimes."

After this conversation, Maureen decides to take a bath. But what we see is not Marion Crane's joyful cleansing in the shower, but the surrender of an acutely dispirited woman. When "Mother" opens the curtains, she sees not a hardy woman in a shower, but, rather, a broken woman in a bathtub. She is committing suicide by slitting her wrists with a razorblade.

Maureen looks up at Mother and Mother, weakened, lowers the knife. Maureen, then, sees not a blade, but a shimmering crucifix. What Maureen was staring at was not Norman's mother coming to kill her, but Mother Mary coming to save her. Norman "returns" and gets Maureen to the local hospital to save her life. After she is released, he invites her to stay back at the motel and they began a romantic relationship.

One day, Tracy Venable (Roberta Maxwell), a nosey journalist, is writing an article about serial killers being put back on the streets. She comes to seek Norman and ask questions about his past and "Mother". Norman becomes defensive of the reporter and tells her to leave. But Tracy is trying too hard to prove that Norman is beginning a series of murders once again.

Colors is a 1988 film starring Sean Penn and Robert Duvall and directed by Dennis Hopper. The story takes place in South Central Los Angeles in 1987, and is about an experienced LAPD cop, Bob Hodges (Duvall) and his rookie partner, Danny McGavin (Penn) who try to keep the gang violence between the Bloods and the Crips under control.

Danny McGavin is a young officer who has just transferred to LAPD's C.R.A.S.H. unit from patrol. Teamed with 19-year veteran Bob Hodges, he is a hotheaded adrenaline junkie, much to Hodge's chagrin. McGavin allows no challenge to authority, however slight, to go unpunished.

The older cop is laid back on the surface, preaching "rapport" to gang members to encourage them to offer help when it is truly needed, and recognizes that every action white cops take is scrutinized by the people they are trying to help. The lessons are lost on McGavin, and his actions bring him quick notoriety that rubs off on Hodges.

Amidst this, a murder of a Bloods gang member leads to a series of escalations between two other gangs, a relentless intertwining of seemingly random incidents that culminates in a gang war. Meanwhile, after attempts of reason, friendship and finally intimidation fail to bring any change in McGavin, Hodges finally gives up and requests a partner transfer.

McGavin finally learns that being a hardened enforcer has repercussions in the lives of everyone he contacts, and most of all himself, and that force without diplomacy only leads to ruin.

Brainstorm (1983)

Brainstorm is a 1983 science fiction film directed by Douglas Trumbull and starring Christopher Walken and Natalie Wood (in her last film appearance).

The story involves a team of scientists which includes estranged husband-and-wife, Michael and Karen Brace (played by Walken and Wood) and Michael's research colleague, Lillian Reynolds (played by Louise Fletcher) who co-invent a special computer device which allows sensations and higher brain functions to be scanned directly from the brain, recorded, and played back, allowing another person to experience them. The device that read thoughts was called "The Hat". Memories and experiences are stored on an oversize iridescent videotape recorder/player.

When Reynolds suffers a fatal heart attack, she manages to record her own death. Michael attempts to play back the tape, but is nearly killed doing so. After modifying the output of the device to prevent the lethal effect, he tries again, but is interrupted after another scientist who was secretly monitoring the playback dies. The tape is locked away, and Michael and Karen are kicked off the team.

Michael, now obsessed with seeing the tape to the end, makes several attempts to hack into the lab's computers, and discovers project "Brainstorm" - which includes such applications of the device as torture and brainwashing. Michael's son is inadvertently exposed to one of the "toxic" tapes that had been developed as part of the project, and suffers severe mental trauma as a result.

Now more determined than ever, Michael enlists the help of his ex-wife, as well as a friend who had been part of the original project team, so that he can finally view the tape of Reynolds' death, even at the cost of his own life, and destroy project Brainstorm.

Ultimately he succeeds on both counts, and finally knowing what death truly is and what lies after it, he and Karen rediscover their love for one another.

Michael views Dr. Reynold's deathtape. It recorded all of her last thoughts, filled with time memory bubbles, each with its own memory or story. As she actually dies, she remembers the hilarious meeting with Michael and the robot that knocked down stacked up soda cans, She remembers a potential suitor at her lab, attempting to woo and flatter her. She also remembers being devastated, when her boss told her that her private funding was lost, Project Triad was dead and the Pentagon would take over. Her last thoughts on the tape, right before she died, was that of seeing stars and a heavenly chamber and hundreds of angels flying into a great central cosmic light......Then the tape ran out. Michael began crying, because Dr. Reynold's had seen Heaven and made it.

While Michael Brace views the tape, his wife Karen hacks the computer that destroys the robotic factory that makes the memory recording helmets for the US Military.

Angel Heart is a 1987 horror movie written and directed by Alan Parker, starring Mickey Rourke, Lisa Bonet and Robert De Niro. The film is adapted from the novel Falling Angel by William Hjortsberg, and is generally faithful to the novel, but it has a more somber tone.

A highly atmospheric film, Angel Heart combines elements of film noir, hard-boiled detective stories and horror.

Rourke plays Harry Angel, a seedy private investigator in 1955 New York City. Louis Cyphre (De Niro) hires Angel to locate Johnny Favorite, a popular big band crooner who was severely injured in World War II and hospitalized with profound brain damage. Cyphre discovers that the hospital falsified Favorite's records, and wants Angel to find out what happened, as Favorite owed a debt to Cyphre.

But there's more to the case than initially appears, as the debt in question is Favorite's soul, and Cyphre is not human – his very name, Louis Cyphre, is a play on words, sounding like Lucifer when said out loud. His true objective is strongly hinted at by the "egg scene," in which Cyphre eats, with great gusto, an egg – after remarking that in many cultures it represents the soul.

Angel travels to New Orleans as he digs deeper into the case, delving into a world of voodoo and satanism and growing increasingly worried for his own safety and sanity. As Harry Angel discovers more and more of the truth behind Favorite's fate, he experiences flashbacks of satanic rituals, a black mass and a string of murders. He meets Epiphany Proudfoot (Bonet), daughter of a voodoo practitioner who knew Favorite. Notable is the film's disturbing twist ending, in which Angel must finally face the fact that he is Johnny Favorite himself, having abducted and, through a satanic ritual, taken the place and identity of the original Harry Angel, a soldier returning from the war whom he (Favorite) randomly picked off the street. Favorite had promised his soul to the Devil in exchange for worldly success, but then tried to renege by taking the place of another. It is only after he realizes his true identity that Cyphre can claim what is his: Favorite's very soul. Over the end credits, there is a lengthy sequence of Angel descending in a rackety old elevator, apparently on his way to Hell.

Rourke's effective performance anchors the film. DeNiro offers a memorable performance in an atypical role, as a refined but palpably sinister character reportedly based on Martin Scorsese's mannerisms. Charlotte Rampling and blues singer Brownie McGhee are memorable in their rather small roles.

City Heat is the Title of a 1984 action-comedy starring Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds.

City Heat was released in North America in December 1984. The pairing of Eastwood and Reynolds in a Prohibition-era action-comedy seemed to give the movie the potential to be a hit. Unfortunately, the movie bombed, taking in only $38,300,000 at the box office. Making the movie as an action film without any comedy at all may have helped it to be a bigger hit.

Controversy over Reynolds's health started when he was hit in the face with a metal chair during the filming of a fight scene. His jaw was broken and he was restricted to a liquid diet, causing him to lose over 30 pounds by the time filming wrapped. His condition made headlines in the tabloids, who suspected he had AIDS.

Hawks is a 1988 British comedy film about two terminally ill patients: an English lawyer named Bancroft (Timothy Dalton) and a young American football player (Anthony Edwards), who decide to sneak out of their hospital rooms and live life to its fullest for whatever time they have left. Their goal: to reach a famous brothel in Amsterdam. Along the way, thy encounter various characters including a pair of misfit British women (played by Camille Coduri and Janet McTeer).

The film intentionally stays away from giving any specific details regarding the two men's illness, though it is presumed they have some form of cancer. It was filmed on location in London's Charing Cross Hospital and in the Netherlands.

The film was based on a short story written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees and David English, and the screenplay was written by Roy Clarke. The musical score was composed by Gibb.

The film is often regarded as the most overlooked and underrated in Timothy Dalton's career.

Robocop is a 1987 science fiction action movie and satire of business-driven capitalism, directed by Paul Verhoeven. It spawned two sequels, several comic books, multiple video games, two animated series, dozens of action figures and two television series, all featuring a cyborg police officer. The film was produced by Orion Pictures.

The film is set in a dystopian near future, in Detroit, Michigan. Violent crime is out of control, and the city is in financial ruin. The city contracts the megacorporation Omni Consumer Products (OCP) to fund and operate the police department, in effect privatizing it. OCP is not interested in rebuilding "Old Detroit" but with replacing it with a modern utopia called "Delta City". Before this large construction project can begin, OCP wishes to end crime in the city, and creates a superhuman law-enforcement agent known as RoboCop.

The Serpent and the Rainbow is a 1988 American horror film, directed by Wes Craven and starring Bill Pullman.

The film takes its title from a non-fiction book by ethnobotanist Wade Davis, dealing with his experiences in Haiti as he investigates the voodoo based phenomenon of zombiefication.

David Allen, an ethnobotanist/anthropologist from Harvard University, narrowly escapes the Amazon Jungle at the beginning and returns to Boston. Word of his exploits get around and he is approached by a large pharmaceutical corporation looking to investigate a drug that is part of the Voodoo religion in Haiti that they want to acquire in order to mass produce. They send him to Haiti to find out about the drug, but he winds up learning more about zombification instead. In essence, the drug is an alternate and less dangerous method of anesthesia.

When Allen arrives in Haiti the country is in the middle of a revolution of sorts. The government is taking anyone prisoner who they think is against the current political powers. He eventually meets another doctor who helps him research and investigate the so-called zombies. What he finds is the evil that lurks behind the Voodoo religion and the destruction it can cause to the human mind.

Frances is a 1982 Universal motion picture starring Jessica Lange, Kim Stanley, Sam Shepard. When it was released this film was advertised as a purportedly true account of actress Frances Farmer's life but the script was largely fictional and sensationalized.

Directed by Graeme Clifford, the story was written for the screen by Eric Bergren, Christopher De Vore and Nicholas Kazan (son of Elia Kazan, who worked with the real Frances Farmer in several plays), based upon William Arnold's Shadowland, a fictional biography of Farmer. In pre-production the producers reneged on their option to use the book as source material. Arnold filed an unsuccessful copyright infringement lawsuit and many of his fictional elements were incorporated into the final film. On the commentary of the latest DVD release, director Clifford stated, "We didn't want to nickel and dime people to death with facts." It was produced by Jonathan Sanger and Mel Brooks.

Frances was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Jessica Lange) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Kim Stanley).

Down and Out in Beverly Hills is a 1986 American comedy film, based on the French play Boudu sauvé des eaux, which had previously been adapted on film in 1932 by Jean Renoir. Down and Out in Bevery Hills was directed by Paul Mazursky, and starred Nick Nolte, Bette Midler and Richard Dreyfuss. The film is about a rich but dysfunctional couple who save the life of a suicidal bum. Flamboyant musician Little Richard also makes an appearance, and contributed the song "Great Gosh a'Mighty" to the soundtrack. The song's success led to a revitalization of his career.

Released by Touchstone Pictures, a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company, Down and Out in Beverly Hills has the distinction of being the first R-rated film ever released by Disney. The R rating is due to profanity as well as a brief scene showing a topless woman having sex, another first for Disney. However, countless R-rated films have since received distribution by the Disney Company, under subsidiaries such as Touchstone, Miramax Films and Hollywood Pictures. Walt Disney Pictures, the flagship family-oriented brand, has yet to release a film with a rating stronger than PG-13.

The Philadelphia Experiment is a 1984 science fiction film. It was directed by Stewart Raffill and starred Michael Paré, Bobby Di Cicco, Nancy Allen, and Eric Christmas.

The plot is based on the urban legend of the Philadelphia Experiment. In 1943, two sailors, David Herdeg (Paré) and Jim Parker (Di Cicco), are stationed on a ship in an experiment to make it invisible. However, the experiment goes horribly wrong and Herdeg and Parker are the only two survivors. They both undergo time travel (because of the experiment) and find themselves in the Nevada desert in the year 1984.

A sequel called Philadelphia Experiment II, featuring a different cast and crew, and a parallel storyline, was released in 1993 to little acclaim. It starred Brad Johnson as David Herdeg and Gerrit Graham as the stealthy villain who meets an untimely end.

The Last Starfighter is a 1984 science fiction adventure film. There was a subsequent novelization of the movie that year by Alan Dean Foster, as well as a video game based on the production. Heavy Metal is a 1981 Canadian animated film from executive producer Leonard Mogel, who also was the publisher of Heavy Metal magazine. With Ivan Reitman producing and Gerald Potterton directing, the work flow was expedited by having several animation houses working simultaneously on different segments.

The film is an anthology of various adult-oriented science fiction and fantasy stories adapted from Heavy Metal magazine and original stories in the same spirit. Like the magazine, the film has an unusual amount of bloody violence, nudity and sexuality for a Canadian animated film for the time, thus predating the present day popularity of adult-oriented Japanese anime in the United States.^{[citation needed]}

Mogel planned another film to be promoted under his "Heavy Metal Presents" banner, and Scott Roberts did extensive work scripting an adaptation of William Gibson's short story "Burning Chrome", writing a total of six screenplay revisions. However, this project, planned as a live-action film, was eventually sold by Mogel to Carolco, and the film was never made. Mogel had a meeting with director Luc Besson, since he wanted Besson to direct Burning Chrome.

In 2000 a sequel entitled Heavy Metal 2000 (aka Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.²) was released.

La Bamba (1987)

La Bamba is a 1987 movie based on the real life events that affected the lives of rock star Ritchie Valens, his half-brother Bob Morales, his girlfriend Donna Ludwig and the rest of their families.

It also documents how Valens witnessed an air collision when he was young and was fearful of airplanes since then.^[1]

Tagline: Born to poverty. Destined for stardom. He lived the American Dream.

The movie follows Ricardo Valenzuela (Lou Diamond Phillips), a normal teenaged boy who becomes singing super-star Ritchie Valens. It depicts how he met and fell in love with Donna Ludwig, for whom he wrote a song that became a number one hit. The movie also has several subplots, such as his relationship with his mother (Rosanna DeSoto) and half-brother Bob Morales (Esai Morales), and how his brother felt that their mother favors Ritchie.

In one scene, Bob won an important art contest that helps promising cartoonists, only to throw away his prize because, in his mind, his mother doesn't seem to care enough. Bob resorts to drinking heavily and, at one point, leads him to end up crying in front of his mother's door yelling "I want to see my daughter!" in reference to the child he sired with Ritchie's ex-girlfriend, Rosie (Elizabeth Peña).

The film also focuses on Richie's fear of flying, and a recurring dream he has due to a plane crash that killed his friend when he was younger. Eventually, he must conquer his fear when asked to perform his song "Donna" on American Bandstand. His manager Bob Keane (Joe Pantoliano) helps him by giving him a little vodka to calm his nerves during the flight.

As Valens becomes famous, his responsibilities change. He has to go on tour with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper after his hits "La Bamba" and "Donna" reach the top of the Billboard charts.

However, every time they get a chance, Ritchie and Bob sneak out and have fun by going to carnivals. They also take a road trip to Tijuana.

The movie ends with Valens, Holly, and The Bopper taking off in an airplane under a snow storm for their fateful flight.

As Bob is fixing a car he listens to the news that his brother's plane crashed without any survivors. Bob darts out of his driveway in an attempt to get to his mother before she hears the bad news through the radio. The news hits the whole Valenzuela family very hard. in the final scene we see Bob walking over a bridge and screaming the name of Ritchie, remembering all the good times they had together (in flashback).

Ritchie Valens was only seventeen years old when he passed, eight months after he signed to Del-Fi Records and produced three songs that hit the Billboard 100. As the credits roll we see Lou Diamond Phillips performing Valens' version of "La Bamba."

Mosquito Coast (1986)

Maverick inventor Allie Fox finds little support for his inventions in the United States. Because of this, he moves to the Mosquito Coast in Honduras, dragging his wife and four children with him. Upon arrival he purchases a township in the jungle from a man in a local bar. After difficulty they arrive at the town of Geronimo in the jungle.

Under Allie's authoritarian leadership the family and employees build with hard work a settlement in the jungle. It includes an ice factory (one of his inventions), providing useful cooling for the settlement and the region. During several occasions Allie enters into conflict with a missionary who wishes to spread the word of Christianity to the township. One day three armed men demand to stay at the settlement. The threat and loss of freedom is countered by making a bedroom for the men in the ice factory, locking it and cooling the room to freeze them to death. However, they start shooting from inside, causing a fire which not only kills them, but also destroys the whole settlement and pollutes the river.

Although the other family members want to return to the U.S., Allie insists in starting again at a new location. He lies saying the U.S. has been destroyed in a nuclear war, which some of the children believe. On occasion, family members plan to sneak away to leave, or even consider killing Allie. As a local man and friend of the family had warned, the water level gets high, and the new settlement is also destroyed.

On the move again, they arrive at a mission church and small township. Suffering from mental anguish, Allie sets the church on fire, after which the missionary with whom he had come into conflict earlier in the film shoots him. On the way home, travelling downstream by boat, he is paralyzed, while the family lies telling him that they are going upstream, as he wants. They are in reality going downstream towards the ocean and back to America.

The film is written from the viewpoint of the eldest son, Charlie, played in the film by River Phoenix. The relationship between father (Harrison Ford) and son (River Phoenix) is an important part of the film, at the conclusion Charlie finally comments on how he has outgrown his childhood attachment to the infallibility of his father. The film also explores aspects of modern life and issues of consumerism; it also presents a contrast between what some consider a communist society (Geromino) and a capitalist one (the USA which they left behind).

Fletch is a 1985 comedy film about a wisecracking investigative newspaper reporter, Irwin Fletcher (Chevy Chase, at the height of his popularity), who writes under the name of Jane Doe. The film was based on the popular Gregory Mcdonald novels and the screenplay was written by Andrew Bergman. The film was directed by Michael Ritchie and released by Universal Pictures in 1985. The theme song, "Bit by Bit" was sung by Stephanie Mills with music by Beverly Hills Cop composer Harold Faltermeyer. It was one of three films Chevy Chase starred in that year, alongside Spies Like Us and National Lampoon's European Vacation, which together garned over $155 million at the box office.

Since its release, Fletch has had a strong following of fans as well as having achieved cult status; it is considered to be one of Chase's best films.

The screenplay was written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr., and was inspired by an article written by Ehud Yonay for California Magazine entitled "Top Guns." The film stars Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Anthony Edwards, Val Kilmer, Tom Skerritt, Michael Ironside, Tim Robbins, and Meg Ryan.

The film follows LT Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, a young naval aviator who aspires to be a top fighter pilot in a prestigious naval school which trains the top 1% of all Naval Aviators. Maverick gets his chance to attend the school after one pilot drops out, allowing for him and his RIO (Radar Intercept Officer, the "back seater" in the two-man F-14) LTJG Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw to train with the best.

The film opened on May 16, 1986 to good reviews, the aerial scenes being most notably praised. The film accumulated over $350 million world-wide, and broke home-video sales records.

Pink Floyd - The Wall is a 1982 MGM film by British director Alan Parker based on the 1979 Pink Floyd album The Wall. The screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters. Though Waters initially considered himself for the lead role, the film ultimately starred Bob Geldof, whose character Pink was loosely based on the biographies of both Waters and former Pink Floyd vocalist and guitarist Syd Barrett, both of whom were founding members of the band. The film also stars Kevin McKeon as the young Pink, and includes brief appearances by Bob Hoskins and Joanne Whalley.

The film is highly metaphorical and is rich in symbolic imagery and sound. It features virtually no dialogue and a non-linear storyline which is progressed entirely through Pink Floyd's lyrical music. Some consider it to be a long music video for the entire album. The only songs from the album not used in the film are Hey You (although material using the song was filmed and the raw footage was first made available on the DVD release as a deleted scene), The Show Must Go On, and Is There Anybody Out There?

The film is scattered throughout with fifteen minutes of elaborate animation sequences by the political cartoonist and illustrator Gerald Scarfe, who played a central role in developing the overall aesthetic of the production. The animation sequences include a bold and nightmarish vision of war, specifically of the German bombing campaign over England during World War II, set to the song "Goodbye Blue Sky".

Roger Waters has expressed dissatisfaction with the final product of the film, and is reported to have been philosophically at odds with director Alan Parker during filming, who himself walked out of the project on multiple occasions due to the conflict. In a 1988 interview on Australian radio, Waters said: "I was a bit disappointed with it in the end, because at the end of the day I felt no sympathy at all with the lead character... and I found it was so unremitting in its onslaught upon the senses, that... it didn't actually give me... as an audience, a chance to get involved with it." [1] Despite Waters' dissatisfaction, the film is considered by many fans to be a worthy interpretation of Pink Floyd's album, and a powerful work of cinema in its own right.

David Gilmour stated that the making of the film was where the feud between him and Waters started. Gilmour also stated on the documentary Behind The Wall (which was aired on BBC TV and VH1 in the US) that "the movie was the less successful telling of The Wall story as opposed to the album and concert versions".

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) is a comedy/science fiction film based on the idea of time travel. It is also a prime example of a buddy film.

The film was released by Nelson Entertainment and Orion Pictures, written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon and directed by Stephen Herek. It stars Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston, Esq., Keanu Reeves as Ted "Theodore" Logan, and George Carlin as the mystical Rufus. (See cast list for the "personages of historical significance.") A motif in the film is the reliance of the two upon rock lyrics for philosophical and practical guidance.

The film was made in 1987, but due to the bankruptcy of the film's original distributor, the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group, the project was not released theatrically until 1989. As a partial result of the delay, certain dates in the movie originally scripted as "1987" had to be redubbed as "1988". The copyright date of this movie is 1988 and the same date appears on the DVD cover.

The film's taglines ("Be Excellent to Each Other" and "Party On, Dudes!"), as well as other California slang phrases, enjoyed a brief surge in popularity in the U.S. following the film's release. The film's "no way"/"yes way" exchanges received new life in 1992's Wayne's World, though shortened to "no way"/"way."

Lethal Weapon is the first of a series of American movies that were released in 1987, 1989, 1992, and 1998, all starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as a mismatched pair of Los Angeles police officers. These movies fall into the action-comedy genre, and are generally considered to typify the "Buddy Cop" plot device.

The story begins in December of 1986 with the apparent suicide of Amanda Hunsaker (Jackie Swanson), the daughter of Michael Hunsacker (Tom Atkins), who is an old friend and former army buddy of LAPD Detective-Sergeant Roger Murtaugh. A veteran cop of 20 years, Roger Murtaugh gets stuck with a new partner on his 50th birthday. That partner is 37-year-old Detective-Sergeant Martin Riggs, whose wife (26) was killed in a car accident two years earlier (it is later revealed, in Weapon 2, that she was killed by Vorstedt in an attempt on his life.) As a result, Riggs is considering suicide, has become a borderline alcoholic, and has become so reckless and violent in his law-enforcement methods that he is considered a "lethal weapon". Sergeant Murtaugh is not happy about having a partner 'on the ragged edge' and 'with a death wish', but is soon indebted to his new partner for saving his life.

While investigating Amanda Hunsacker's death, the two uncover a heroin-smuggling operation organized by Vietnam War veteran special forces troops, known as 'Shadow Company', through their war-era CIA contacts in Air America - a front company used for drug smuggling from the Golden Triangle. The scheme is masterminded by the evil, ruthless General Peter McAllister (Mitchell Ryan) - the former commander of Shadow Company - and his malevolent right-hand man, Mr. Joshua (Gary Busey). Murtaugh and Riggs - both Vietnam War veterans - discover that Michael Hunsacker was "laundering" the profits through his bank, and McAllister engineered the murder of Amanda Hunsacker to keep Michael from confessing all he knows about the heroin-smuggling ring; shortly after the pair confront Michael Hunsacker, Mr. Joshua makes a surprise appearance in a helicopter and kills him.

As Riggs and Murtaugh discover more about Shadow Company's network, the increasingly violent members of Shadow Company kidnap Murtaugh's daughter Rianne to pressure him to reveal everything Michael Hunsacker had told him. Riggs, though initially captured by McAllister, frees himself and then liberates both Murtaugh and Rianne. The pair then attack Shadow Company and shoot down most of its members; McAllister perishes in a car explosion (along with his shipment of heroin) and both Riggs and Murtaugh shoot Mr. Joshua after Riggs beats him in unarmed combat on Murtaugh's front lawn.

Murtaugh and Riggs are now solid friends, and Riggs spends Christmas Day at the Murtaugh home with Roger's family; Riggs brings his dog Sam to be a friend to the Murtaugh family cat, Burbank, and gives Murtaugh a symbolic gift; an unfired 9mm hollow point bullet Riggs had been saving to commit suicide with.

When Kreese breaks Johnny's second place trophy, Miyagi has seen enough. After a short brawl that mostly involves Miyagi dodging blows and Kreese punching the car behind him, Miyagi defeats Kreese, humiliates him (by eschewing a fatal strike in favor of honking Kreese's nose) and then watches as all of Kreese's students, including Johnny, dump their dojo uniforms and belts and walk away, departing from Kreese's dojo and his sadistic form of martial arts. Miyagi then explains to his protégé that being unable to forgive one's enemies is a fate worse than death itself.

Six months later, Miyagi and Daniel travel to Okinawa to visit Miyagi's dying father and martial arts teacher. They are confronted by his old nemesis Sato (Danny Kamekona), whom Miyagi fled Okinawa years ago in order to avoid a fight to the death with, Sato's rebellious nephew Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), Miyagi's ex-girlfriend Yukie (Nobu McCarthy) and her niece Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita).

As Miyagi and Yukie re-kindle their old bonds (after fleeing to the USA Miyagi had thought that Yukie had married Sato, but she actually preferred to remain single the rest of her life than doing so), Daniel learns more about Japanese culture with Kumiko's help and falls for her. Later, he has to protect Miyagi's honor and the life of Kumiko and a little farmer girl in a fight to the death with an humiliated Chozen, who has been disowned by Sato after he and Miyagi made amends thanks to Daniel.

Daniel and Chozen fight in a water-surrounded center, and Chozen seems to be getting the upper hand and even Daniel's Crane Kick is no match for him. However, Daniel defeats Chozen with multiple strikes to the face, and then spares Chozen's life in the same way that Miyagi spared Kreese's life at the beginning of the film.

Outland is a 1981 science fiction movie starring Sean Connery. It has been described as space western, that is, a Western set in the future, with a specific nod towards High Noon. Connery's character is the federal marshal of a mining colony on Io, a moon of Jupiter, rather than in the Wild West.
The manager of the colony (Peter Boyle) is part of a drug smuggling ring that brings a drug called Polydichloric Euthimal, an amphetamine into the colony in order to maintain high production levels. Unfortunately, with sustained use over a period of time, the drug causes hallucinations and psychotic behavior. After several miners experience hallucinations and die in mishaps, the marshal (Connery) investigates and uncovers the smuggling ring. The marshal confronts the manager to stop the drug shipments, but the manager says that nobody else wants the drug shipments to be stopped. The manager contacts his smuggling ring and several assassins are sent to the station to murder the marshal. With the sole help of the station doctor (Frances Sternhagen), the marshal evades the assassins through a desperate kill-or-be-killed chase throughout the colony.

The Transformers: The Movie is an animated feature film based on the popular animated television series The Transformers. The Neverending Story (original German title Die Unendliche Geschichte) is the 1984 film adaptation of the German fantasy novel by Michael Ende. The Germany-US co-production was directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starred Barret Oliver as Bastian Balthazar Bux (named only "Bastian Bux" in the movie), Noah Hathaway as Atreyu, and Tami Stronach as The Childlike Empress. This film adaptation only covered the first half of the book. The majority of the movie was filmed in Germany, except for Barret Oliver's scenes, which were shot in Canada. It was Germany's highest budgeted film of the time. The novel's author, Michael Ende, felt that this adaptation's content deviated so far from his book that he requested they either halt production or change the name; when they did neither, he sued them and subsequently lost the case.[1] He did succeed in having his name removed from the opening credits, although his name does appear in the closing. Music for the movie was composed by Klaus Doldinger of the German jazz group Passport. The theme song to the American version of the film was composed by Giorgio Moroder with lyrics by Keith Forsey, and performed by Limahl, the fired lead singer of Kajagoogoo. This song, along with other "techno-pop" treatments to the soundtrack are not present in the German version of the film, which features Doldinger's score exclusively.

As a result of a fender-bender accident, Roberts meets and falls in love with child psychologist Diana Lawson (Janet Eilber), who is not the least bit impressed with James' wealth or fame. He spends the rest of the picture following Diana all over San Francisco, much to the discomfort of his lovelorn writing partner Nicky Nides (Patti Hanson).

Cobra is a 1986 action movie directed by George Pan Cosmatos, starring Sylvester Stallone, Reni Santoni and Brigitte Nielsen.

The movie was loosely based on a novel Fair Game by Paula Gosling, which was also filmed under that title in 1995; it also arose out of Stallone's original ideas for the film Beverly Hills Cop. He had wanted to make a less comedic, more action-oriented film. When he left that project, Eddie Murphy was brought in to play the lead role.

The film was a modest hit at the box office, but was widely panned by critics for its cartoonish violence and cliched plot. The tagline on the movie poster was "Crime is a disease... meet the cure". Some critics mocked this as "Stallone is a disease... acting lessons are the cure" or "Cobra is a disease... there is no cure."

Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) is a teenage fan of horror movies. He discovers that his next-door neighbor, Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon), is a vampire, but nobody will believe him. A novelization was written by A. C. H. Smith. The human leads are David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King, and a teenage Jennifer Connelly as Sarah Williams. The plot revolves around Sarah's quest to rescue her little brother from the Goblin King, while trapped in a world that is an enormous fantasy maze. Most of the other significant roles are played by puppets or by a combination of puppetry and human performance. It was shot on location in New York and at Elstree Studios in the UK. It was the last feature film directed by Henson before his death in 1990.

Tony becomes a gangster against the backdrop of the 1980s cocaine boom. The film chronicles his rise to the top of Miami's criminal underworld and subsequent downfall. The film is loosely based on the 1932 fictionalized Al Capone biopic, Scarface.

Although initially released to little fanfare, and the target of harsh reviews, Scarface has more recently re-emerged as a celebrated film and fixture in pop culture, particularly within the world of hip-hop. It developed a phenomenal cult following and is today one the most celebrated films of all time.

Race teams have gathered in Connecticut to start their cross-country race. One at a time, teams drive up to the starters' stand, punch a time card to indicate their time of departure, then take off. Among the teams are J.J. McClure (Burt Reynolds) and Victor Prinzi (Dom DeLuise) , driving a souped up but otherwise authentic Dodge Tradesman ambulance; Blake and Fenderbaum (Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. respectively), dressed as priests driving a red Ferrari; Jill and Marcie, two attractive women driving a Lamborghini Countach; Jackie Chan and Michael Hui as drivers of a high-tech, computer-laden Subaru with a rocket engine; and Roger Moore (playing a character named "Seymour Goldfarb, Jr." (heir to the 'Goldfarb Girdle Family Fortune" who thinks that he is actor Roger Moore).

At the starting line, observing from the shadows, is Mr. Arthur J. (as in "AJ") Foyt, a representative of an unnamed U.S. federal agency, who is trying to stop the race because of its environmental effects and safety issues. In the car with him is Pamela Glover.

Shortly after they leave the starting line, J.J. and Victor (driving their ambulance) come across Foyt and Glover, who have been involved in a minor fender-bender. Glover implores J.J. and Victor to help, but when they tell Foyt to enter the ambulance through the back door, they kidnap Glover and take off without him.

As the race progresses, various teams are shown either evading law enforcement (the Subaru team are able to turn off their headlights for racing at night) or talking their way out of tickets (Jill and Marcie use sex appeal by unzipping their race suits to display copious amounts of cleavage). Similarly, the ambulance is pulled over by Connecticut state troopers; Dr. Van Helsing drugs Glover (by now being referred to as "Beauty"), and J.J. and Victor are able to convince the troopers that they're rushing "the Senator's daughter" to U.C.L.A. for medical treatment. And Roger Moore is frequently shown evading police by using various James Bond-type gadgets (such as oil slicks, smoke screens, etc.) installed in his Aston-Martin.

In Missouri, Fenderbaum and Blake are able to convince Victor to pull over their ambulance in order to bless the patient on board. While Blake carries out the blessing, Fenderbaum lets the air out of the ambulance's tires.

Later, as the ambulance pulls out of a gas station, the Ferrari comes screaming in behind it; in a fit of revenge, J.J. convinces a nearby police officer that the two men dressed as priests are actually sex perverts who are responsible for the flashing victim in the ambulance.

Meanwhile, Foyt, with the help of his government agency, is able to set up a roadblock and catch several teams (though none of the "major" teams featured in the movie).

Similar scenes continue to build up to the conclusion of the movie. The remaining teams find themselves stopped on a desert highway, next to a roadside market, waiting for construction work to clear the road ahead of them. While waiting, a biker gang shows up and begins harassing the Asian family who run the market. The Subaru team go to help the family (naturally, Jackie Chan puts his martial arts skills to work) and the remaining teams join in the massive fight. In the middle of the fight, the construction crew announces that the road is open, and the teams sprint back to their cars for the final race to the finish.

The ambulance begins falling behind the rest of the pack, until Victor changes into his super-hero alter-ego Captain Chaos. The vehicles all arrive at the finish line's parking lot at the same time, and it's a foot race to the finish line. (Why it's so important to be first to the clock when everyone clocked out at different times is left unexplained.) In the sprint, J.J. hands off his team's time card to Victor, then ambushes the remaining racers, leaving only Victor and one of the Lamborghini women. Just when it appears Victor will reach the time clock first, a scream rings out, and a spectator shouts that her "baby" has fallen into the water. Victor, still in his Captain Chaos persona, quits the race and rushes to save the baby (later revealed to be the woman's dog), allowing Marcie to clock in first.

Two Of A Kind Is A 1983 movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

The film has Travolta as an inventor and Newton-John as a bank teller. It is up to both criminally-minded individuals to save the Earth from God's destruction.

This film was the pop singer Newton-John's third attempt at a big budget movie, but which turned out to be an even bigger bomb than her previous Xanadu. This film also marked the start of a huge downturn in Travolta's movie career, which wouldn't rebound until 1994 with his starring role in Pulp Fiction. This film was the antithesis of Travolta's and Newton-John's previous film together, Grease, one of the biggest box office successes in movie history.

Streets Of Fire is a film that was directed by Walter Hill, and co-written by Hill and Larry Gross in the fall and winter of 1983. It was described in the previews, trailers, and posters as "A Rock & Roll Fable." It's an unusual mix of part musical, part drama and part comedy with a setting that is both retro 1950's and the 1980's.

The film stars Michael Paré, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, Amy Madigan, E.G. Daily, and Willem Dafoe, and includes cameos by many then unknown stars of stage and screen. The film was produced by Universal Pictures for a summer release but financially was a box office flop.

In recent years this movie has achieved cult status. It has MTV-like visuals and editing techniques, a soundtrack of a variety of many different types of established musical artists and genres (blues to rockabilly to even some pop), and the acting is top-notch with a cohesive storyline and is simply fun to watch.

This sequel to the rock & roll mystery Eddie and the Cruisers explains many of the questions concerning the mysterious death of 1960s rocker Eddie Wilson, who with his Cruisers was celebrating the success of their first album when he got in a terrible car wreck, from which his body was never recovered. Also missing were the masters from the group's upcoming second album. This story begins 25-years later as Eddie Wilson is found living in Montreal under an assumed name. At this time, the masters from the second album are finally released and suddenly the whole continent is caught up in a resurgence of "Eddiemania." This inspires Wilson, who continues to use an alias, to form a new band and hit the road. Once again, his music is provided by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.

When they were children, siblings Lacey and Willy are abused by their mother's drunken boyfriend. Willy took revenge by taking a knife and killing the guy in a bloody mess, while Lacey watched him do so reflected in a mirror. Years later, Lacey (Suzanna Love, The Devonsville Terror) and Willy (Nicholas Love, Twin Peaks) live on a quaint little farm and are trying to move on. Lacey is married and has a little boy, but some intense nightmares reveal that she's still not over what happened. Willy, meanwhile, isn't dealing with it very well either. He hasn't spoken since that night, he keeps snakes and tarantulas as pets, and he has his own personal knife collection.

When her psychiatrist (John Carradine, Ice Pirates) suggests Lacy visit her childhood home as a way of freeing herself from her personal demons, pretty much the exact opposite happens. She spots the same mirror where she once spied the murder, freaks out, and smashes it with a chair. Oh, Lacey, you shouldn't have done that, because you've unleashed your mom's beau's evil spirit, and he's out for vengeance. Now, Lacey, her family, and anyone else reflected in the mirror's broken pieces will meet their gory end at the invisible hand of the Boogeyman.

About The Movie:

The Movie Is About A 1960s rock 'n roll band called Eddie and the Cruisers. The band makes a name for itself while playing regularly at a Somers Point, New Jersey club called TonyMart's. It is there that they meet Frank "Wordman" Ridgeway, whom Eddie hires to be the band's keyboard player and lyricist.

With Ridgeway's help the band stops playing cover songs and releases an album of original material, Tender Years, that becomes a hit. The band spends a year recording their next album, A Season in Hell. The album is a culmination of all that Eddie has ever hoped to do with music, different from anything that anyone else had ever done at that point. It strikes the head of their record company, Satin Records, as too strange to release.

In the early morning hours after Satin refuses to release the new album, Eddie's car goes over the side of the Raritan Bridge. His body is never found, and he is declared dead.

Almost 20 years later, Satin re-releases the band's first album, which becomes a surprise hit, climbing higher on the charts than the original ever did. This is where the movie begins, with the editors of a television show deciding to do a story on the band, with an attempt to bring light to the band's second album, which disappeared from the vaults of Satin Records the day after Eddie supposedly died.

Though the namesake of the movie is the band's lead singer, the movie revolves around the other members of the Cruisers, especially Frank Ridgeway, and their memories of the band. All of the members have by now moved on with their lives, and are mostly not involved in the music business at all. Much of the movie takes place in flashback, prompted by the television reporter, Maggie Foley. Tensions building within the Cruisers during the flashback sequences coincide with Frank becoming more open about the story with Maggie.

The story's climax involves Eddie's girlfriend, Joann Carlino, completing the one piece of the flashback puzzle that Frank could not: what happened the night that Satin refused to release the band's second album?

After storming from the studio, Eddie brought her to the Palace of Depression, a makeshift castle made of garbage and junk that he visited often as a child. She reveals that it was in fact her that took the master tapes for Season in Hell from Satin Records, hiding them in Palace of Depression, where she felt they belonged.

Frank and Joann go back to Palace of Depression to retrieve the master tapes. After returning to Joann's house, she receives a phone call that she believes to be from Eddie, who has been missing for almost 20 years, and with whom she remains in love. Frank hides outside and watches as a blue chevy, identical to Eddie's old car, arrives at the house, and a voice that sounds like Eddie's calls to her. Before Joann can reach the car, Frank pulls the driver from behind the wheel, who turns out to be the band's old manager, who was using the trickery to obtain possession of the master tapes. They give him the master tapes for Season in Hell, which he promises to release under a deal that will benefit all of them.

The movie closes with Maggie's story about the band, being viewed on televisions in a store window and watched by a crowd outside. The credits roll as a song from Season in Hell is premiered for the first time, and as the lights from the television dim, the crowd walks away, leaving only one person standing at the window. His reflection appears in the store window, revealing him to be the long-lost Eddie Wilson, much older and with a beard.

The soundtrack for the movie is performed by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. They are best known for their work in the movie, as well as in its sequel.

The story opens with Miles Harding, an architect who envisions a brick shaped like a jigsaw puzzle piece that could withstand earthquakes. Seeking a way to get organized, he buys a home computer (made by the fictitious company Pinecone Computers) to help him develop his ideas. Although he is initially unsure that he will even be able to correctly operate the computer, he later buys numerous extra gadgets that were not necessary for his work, such as switches to control household appliances like the blender, a speech synthesizer, and a microphone. The computer addresses Miles as "Moles", because Miles mistyped his name during the initial set-up.

When Miles attempts to download data from a mainframe computer at work, the computer begins to overheat. In a state of panic, Miles pours a nearby bottle of champagne over the machine, but instead of destroying it, this has the effect of bringing the computer to life.

The remainder of the movie deals with a love triangle between Miles, his computer (which identifies its own name as "Edgar" at the end of the movie), and Miles' neighbor, an attractive cellist named Madeline (Virginia Madsen). Edgar increasingly invades Miles' affairs leading to several invasions into his life away from the house.

Eventually, Edgar accepts that Madeline and Miles' love for each other, and appears to commit suicide by sending a large electric current through its modem, around the world, and back to itself. It is revealed in the final scene that Edgar has transferred himself away from his computer "body" into electronic systems in the world.

The Cleveland Indians are perennial losers. For years, few things have gone right with the team, and when Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton), a former Las Vegas showgirl, inherits the team from her late husband, it doesn't look like their fortunes will change any time soon. The greedy Phelps hates Municipal Stadium and the city, and sees an opportunity to get out of Cleveland: if the team's attendance falls below 800,000 paid customers, she can legally void the Indians' lease with the city and move the team to Miami, Florida.

To that end, she signs "a has-been and a couple of never-will-bes," including catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger), an aging former All-star (and former Indian, two seasons earlier) with chronic knee problems who has been toiling in the Mexican League; pitcher Rick Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), a punked-out felon from the "California Penal League" with a blazing fastball (Sheen at the time could top 80 miles per hour); Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes), a speedy center fielder who boasts that he hits like Willie Mays and runs like Bob Hayes; Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert), a surly Cuban defector who possesses incredible power, but can't hit a curveball and believes in voodoo to help him get out of batting slumps; and Eddie Harris (Chelcie Ross), a veteran finesse pitcher who, without a powerful arm like Vaughn's, resorts to doctoring the ball with Crisco, Vagisil, Bardahl, and, if the umpires are watching him closely, snot. Already under contract is third baseman Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen), a high-priced prima donna who is biding his time until free agency and is making "plans for life after baseball," so he refuses to field the ball properly for fear of debilitating injury. Hired to manage the team is Lou Brown (James Gammon), a tire salesman who's managed in the minor leagues for years, but had never reached the majors. The only person privy to Rachel Phelps' plan is newly promoted General Manager Charlie Donovan (Charles Cyphers), the team's former field manager.

Spring training in Tucson does not go well. Vaughn's fastball is clocked at 96 miles per hour, but he has problems throwing it in the strike zone. Hayes, who thinks he has home-run power but hits pop flies instead, is told by Brown that he should hit the ball on the ground and "leg out" base hits. On the final cut-down day (teams can keep 25 players active through most of the season; those who don't make the team are sent to the minor leagues or released outright), a tag in his locker tells Vaughn that he's been demoted; it turns out to be a prank played by Dorn, who thinks Vaughn is a show-off due to his flashy appearance ("Whoa! Another freak-show candidate. How do you cut your hair, rook, Veg-O-Matic? The earring's cute, too, have you got the, uh, matching bracelet, 'veg-head'?").

Back in Cleveland, Taylor takes the rookies (Vaughn and Hayes) out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, where he sees his ex-girlfriend, Lynn Wells (Rene Russo), dining with her current beau. (Though listed in the credits as "Lynn Wells", her name is pronounced "Weslin" both times it's spoken in the film.) Noting that Lynn "would have been (my wife) if I hadn't messed things up," Jake decides to try to win her back. Because Taylor has a reputation as a womanizer (he was once hit with a paternity lawsuit; though it was a hoax, it was clear he had been with the woman), Lynn brushes off his advances, announcing instead that she and her fiance (Tom, an attorney) are getting married.

Vaughn, meantime, is struggling. In his season debut, his first pitch is delivered about four feet wide of home plate, prompting the team's Jack Daniel's-swilling announcer (Harry Doyle, played by former catcher and current Milwaukee Brewers announcer Bob Uecker) to deadpan, "Ju-u-u-u-u-u-ust a bit outside." Vaughn then proceeds to walk the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches, causing fans to quickly dub him "Wild Thing". Vaughn's subsequent appearances have similar results, prompting Brown to pull him into his office. "You've got a great arm, it's one of the best I've ever seen," says his manager, "but your control hasn't come around like we'd hoped it would." Brown begins to suggest a stint in the minors, then discovers that Vaughn has vision problems. With glasses, Vaughn's next appearance is a complete-game victory.

After a sluggish start, the Indians show signs of being competitive, compiling a won-loss record far better than Phelps expected. Deciding that the players are being "coddled", she guts the medical staff and equipment, turns off the hot water in the locker room, trades in the team airplane for a propeller-driven craft barely big enough to hold the team, and later dumps the plane in favor of a bus similar to those used by minor-league teams. Still, the Indians keep winning, and a confident Brown tells his General Manager, "all we need is something to bring it all together." Donovan ruefully provides that final ingredient by spilling Rachel Phelps' plans, and when Brown tells his team, its captain (Taylor) says the only thing left to do is win it all. As added incentive for each victory, Brown peels a section of clothing from a life-size cutout of Phelps from her days as a showgirl.

As the regular season ends, the Indians and the New York Yankees are tied for first place in their division, leading to a one-game playoff. During a news broadcast from the team's hotel, Dorn's wife sees him leave with another woman. Mrs. Dorn meets up with Vaughn—sitting in a bar, distraught after learning that he would be passed over in the pitching rotation in favor of the veteran Harris—sleeps with him, and tells her husband just before game time. When Vaughn is called in to relieve Harris in the ninth inning, Dorn runs to the pitchers' mound but, instead of fighting with Vaughn, implores him to strike out the batter (Haywood).

With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Hayes legs out a hit and steals second base. At the plate, Taylor signals a suggestion to Brown, then points to the bleachers, "calling his shot," announces Doyle. "Nobody's done this since Babe Ruth in the '32 World Series!" After a brushback pitch, Taylor points again, then bunts instead, barely beating the throw to first by the surprised third baseman, who had been duped into playing deep. Hayes is waved home by the third-base coach and slides in ahead of the tag, safe, sending the Indians into the playoffs with a 3-2 win.

The team and its fans go wild in celebration; Dorn sees Vaughn in the crowd of people, decks him with a punch, then pulls him back up and hugs him over their victory. Jake looks into the stands and sees Lynn, showing her left hand—there's no engagement ring, meaning she now believes Taylor is "just a guy trying to put his life back together." The film ends with Lynn in Jake's arms, and his teammates giving high-fives and signaling, "we're number one!"

Staying Alive is a 1983 film sequel to Saturday Night Fever, starring John Travolta as the same character, Cynthia Rhodes, Finola Hughes, Steve Inwood, Julie Bovasso, and dancers Viktor Manoel, Kate Ann Wright, Kevyn Morrow and Nanette Tarpey.
Tony Manero is six years older, and now is auditioning for Broadway. The movie has him having left Brooklyn and now living in Manhattan. He has little money and is staying in a flophouse while he tries to break into a major Broadway show as a dancer. The world of show business however is highly competitive, and the established performers resent this newcomer whom they see as an intruder trying to push them out of their positions. His mother while having high hopes for her son also disapproves of the racy nature of the dancing in the show, which she finds shocking; to top it off the show is called "Satan's Alley." In the end, Manero's mother accepts his newfound career, while Manero learns the hard way that he has to keep his ego and his personal conflicts off the stage in order to make it in Broadway.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a 1982 American coming-of-age teen-comedy film written by Cameron Crowe (adapted from a book he wrote) and directed by Amy Heckerling. The film follows a school year in the lives of freshman Stacy Hamilton (Jennifer Jason Leigh), freshman Mark Ratner (Brian Backer) and their respective friends Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates) and Mike Damone (Robert Romanus) who believe themselves wise in the ways of romance and counsel their younger counterparts. The ensemble cast of characters also includes Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn), a perpetually stoned but savvy surfer who faces off against uptight history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston), who is convinced that all of his students use marijuana. Stacy's brother, Brad (Judge Reinhold) is a successful high school senior who works at a local burger joint.

After leaving the army and moving to New York City, Brian Flanagan (Tom Cruise) gets a part-time job as a bartender while studying for a business degree (which he needs to get a job in marketing). This starts off tougher than he expected. However, using some tricks of the trade from his boss Doug Coughlin (Bryan Brown), Brian soon becomes one of the most popular bartenders in town.

Both Doug and Brian and Doug aspire to open their own bars someday; Brian intends to call his Cocktails & Dreams.

After competing with Doug for a girl named Coral (Gina Gershon), Brian heads to the Islands. There he continues working as a bartender (thereby raising money for Cocktails & Dreams), this time at a resort in Jamaica. He finds continued success, and also a romantic partner in Jordan Mooney (Elisabeth Shue). Jordan is an aspiring artist from NYC who, for now, works as a waitress. She and Brian fall for each other. Ultimately, they make love beneath a waterfall and Jordan becomes pregnant. Then Brian takes a bet from Doug to sleep with Bonnie (Lisa Banes), a wealthy older woman. Jordan catches Brian in the act and is devastated. She takes an overnight plane home to her rich Park Avenue parents.

Brian also returns to New York, with Bonnie. When their relationship (not surprisingly) fails, Brian seeks out Jordan's family. Her father Richard (Laurence Luckinbill) attempts to buy him off, without success. Brian begs Jordan's forgiveness and promises to take good care of their offspring. Jordan takes pity on Brian, especially after they both discover that Doug has committed suicide.

Brian finally earns enough money to make Cocktails & Dreams a reality (no pun intended). He throws his own wedding bash there, for Jordan and himself. She proudly informs him that soon they will have not one child but twins (a son and a daughter).

The movie also stars Kelly Lynch as "Kerry Coughlin."

Youngblood returns to the team, a new man, ready to confront Racki in the final game of the playoffs between his team and the Thunder Bay Bombers. The game ends with a stunning game-winning penalty shot by Youngblood, yet is far from over as Youngblood demands to his coach, Murray Chadwich (Ed Lauter) to be left in the game as time expires to confront Racki. "Let's go" says Youngblood and Racki engage in a violent, hockey fight to the finish with his teammates and crowd including Youngblood's father Blane (Eric Nesterenko) and girlfriend, Coach Chadwick's daughter, Jessie (Cynthia Gibb) cheering him on. Youngblood emerges victorious, landing several blows to the face and body of his nemesis Racki and is carried off the ice on the shoulders of his teammmates in celebration.

The Woman In Red
is a 1984 romantic comedy directed by Gene Wilder and written by Jean-Loup Dabadie, Yves Robert and Wilder, starring Wilder as a happily married man who fantasizes about having an affair with a sexy mystery woman (Kelly LeBrock). His attempts to actually initiate the affair, however, are repeatedly thwarted by various comic circumstances, most notably by a secretary (Gilda Radner) who mistakenly believes that she is the object of his affection.

The soundtrack was composed by Stevie Wonder and features performances by Wonder and also Dionne Warwick. Wonder received an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song "I Just Called to Say I Love You".

Released in summer 1984, The movie was one of the first to receive a PG-13 rating from the MPAA.

The film is a remake of Un éléphant ça trompe énormément (An Elephant Can Be Extremely Deceptive) also known as Pardon mon affaire directed by Yves Robert.
