About The Movie:Labyrinth is a 1986 fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, produced by George Lucas, and designed through the art of Brian Froud and Henson, with screenwriting by Henson, children's author Dennis Lee, and Monty Python alumnus Terry Jones. A novelization was written by A. C. H. Smith. The human leads are David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King, and a teenage Jennifer Connelly as Sarah Williams. The plot revolves around Sarah's quest to rescue her little brother from the Goblin King, while trapped in a world that is an enormous fantasy maze. Most of the other significant roles are played by puppets or by a combination of puppetry and human performance. It was shot on location in New York and at Elstree Studios in the UK. It was the last feature film directed by Henson before his death in 1990.

woah. i was positively obsessed with this film as a child. i still have the tape i forced the rental place to give me.
This film is a masterpiece in my opinion. And the music is a true gem to listen to. Thank you for bringing back so many memories with this fine soundtrack. Bowie is in fine performance on this release, especially Magic Dance. One of my personal favorites.
I would love to see a post of The Never Ending Story soundtrack if anyone happens upon it.

This is a classic fantasy film from Jim Henson, in collaboration with George Lucas. There really is a magic about the film and that has helped it last as a firm family favourite all these years.

Here's some cool soundtrack trivia - on Dance Magic, Bowie sings "And baby says..." then the baby gurgles.
In fact, when they were recording in the studio the baby at hand would not goo goo on command. So, the actual baby sounds are Bowie himself!
